The standard probationary period for most corporations is 90 days. Employees are monitored via microscope and are judged based upon many factors of their performance.
In the dating world there is also an unspoken probationary period, where most women/men judge their mates' performance, to see if they are "worthy" sexual partners.
In some unfortunate cases the relationship can end in disaster, whether the individuals involved "waited" to have sex or not .
I have heard from many male friends that although their desire to "hit it" is strong, the challenge of the "chase" is exciting.
I have also known women who have waited a "short" period of time and never heard from their "loves" again.
In the flip side, there are couples who had sex the first time they met and are still in love until this day .
